Q&A With Our Podcast Guest Alyssa Blazofsky
Alyssa is currently in school for her second master's degree! We spoke to Alyssa on one of our first podcast episodes about the psychology behind stress and anxiety (because she already has one master's degree in psychology!)
It was a great conversation that covered a lot of great information about why stress and anxiety happen and how to combat them. You can listen to the episode here.
1. What health and wellness resources and/or people do you follow?
I follow multiple cooking resources on Instagram, @whatsgabbycooking, @foodnetwork, etc. I love getting either new ideas or modified recipes that I can make during the week.
I follow @womenshealthandnutrition for inspiration and motivation as well as informative information for all things health!
2. What do you do to keep yourself stable daily?
I love to cook dinner every night to help keep me stable. It relaxes me after a long day of work and school and allows me to be in control of what I’m putting in my body. I also drink lots of water! I love buying cute water bottles to keep that daily motivation going strong.
3. What place gives you the most peace?
The beach gives me so much peace. It is relaxing at any time of the day. I love that I can go by myself and simply walk or sit and read. Or go with family and friends and enjoy moments with them as well.
4. When is your favorite time to incorporate movement into your day and what do you do?
I love to incorporate movement, mainly dance, at the end of the day! It helps me to unwind and decompress from the stress of the workday. I can get any frustration out, or keep those positive vibes following all day long!!
5. What’s your favorite quick-fix meal?
My favorite quick-fix meal is chicken and broccoli sautéed over pasta! Super simple and only a few ingredients.
Ingredients:
Chicken breast
Broccoli
Garlic (2-3 cloves)
Chicken Stock (about 1/2 cup)
Pasta (reserve cup full of pasta water)
Olive Oil
Salt / Pepper
Lemon juice
Instructions:
Saute chicken in a pan with a little olive oil.
Remove from pan and add broccoli, garlic, lemon juice, and chicken stock.
Cook until tender.
Add chicken back in.
On the side cook pasta until just al dente.
Drain and add pasta (with some pasta water) to the chicken and broccoli mixture.
Add salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy!
